Applications for Retail Banking and Wealth Management Internship
What to expect
We’re looking for the future leaders of Retail Banking and Wealth Management – and this starts with our internship. You will need to be forward-thinking, driven and perceptive, open to different ideas and cultures and enjoy being part of a team.
This internship is a minimum of eight weeks depending on location. Your time will be divided between a role in a branch or contact centre and a role in a specialist head office team, such as product design. We’ll encourage you to take on responsibility and bring new ideas, as a valued part of the team. The internship will give you an introduction to the range and complexity of the business, and an understanding of an excellent customer experience.
You’ll have the opportunity to complete a challenging project that meets a business or community priority. This could focus on improving the customer experience, recommending process improvements, maximising customer leads or contributing to a fundraising activity.
You’ll be able to take part in our sustainability initiatives. Our volunteering programme, for example, could help you to develop new skills, while contributing to the communities in which we work.
You will be paid throughout your internship.
Learning and development
During the internship, you’ll develop critical skills in a fast-moving, customer-focused environment. After a short induction, you’ll move into a project that will have an impact on the bank’s success, and where you will benefit from on-the-job training.
You’ll have the support of a line manager who can offer advice on your career options. A buddy will be assigned to you, who you can share ideas with and who will give you guidance and support. You can also attend regular business and social events to complement your day-to-day role so that you can build your own network, which will prove invaluable in the future.
