For over three decades since its establishment in 1978, Simpson Thacher & Bartlett’s London office has advised the Firm’s clients on a broad range of cross-border merger and acquisition, banking and capital markets transactions throughout Europe. Specialists in competition, real estate, arbitration, litigation, intellectual property and tax augment the office’s core corporate and banking teams. Simpson Thacher and Bartlett advise on both U.S. and English law as it affects our corporate, mergers and acquisitions, banking, capital markets and antitrust clients.

The London office’s merger and acquisition practice reflects the Firm’s worldwide leadership position in this field. Simpson Thacher and Bartlett's London attorneys regularly represent U.S. and European clients in significant cross-border acquisitions, dispositions, spin-offs and joint ventures. Simpson Thacher and Bartlett represent many of the major U.S. and European private equity clients and have advised on some of Europe’s largest buyouts.

Benefits

First year associates presently earn a salary of $160,000. In recent years, all associates in good standing have also received a bonus at year end. Furthermore the Firm will advance up to $9,000 of your annual salary when you first join as an associate.
