What you’d do

Training Contract
Trainee solicitors can gain valuable legal experience in any of our practice groups including Banking, Commercial, Commercial Litigation, Commercial Fraud, Company Secretarial, Corporate Structuring , Employment, Immigration, Intellectual Property & Information Technology, Mergers & Acquisitions, Pensions, Private Client, Real Estate and Tax Litigation. At the same time, daily exposure to the diverse skill sets of professionals in PwC will help you hone strong business advisory skills. You’re definitely training to be a lawyer, but you’ll do it in an exciting multi-disciplinary environment. You’ll also develop lateral thinking skills, gain practical, hands-on experience at a very early stage in your traineeship and be part of teams delivering creative solutions. During your training contract, you’ll take the core and elective modules of the Professional Skills Course between your second and fourth seats and receive extensive training internally on business development and networking, management and interpersonal skills.

Summer Vacation Scheme

Our paid, three-week summer vacation scheme is a great way to find out how we work and see for yourself the ways in which we’re truly unique in the legal marketplace, gaining valuable work experience in your time with us. It’s not 3 weeks of admin – you’ll have the chance to join client meetings and calls, conduct research, practise legal drafting, join our seminar and training programme and work directly alongside our lawyers. The scheme is our principal route towards securing a training contract with us.

Your training and development
We look for ambitious, motivated individuals with the drive to become the leading lawyers of the future. Then we commit to helping them realise that potential. We do this by providing early responsibility, senior exposure and shared expertise, as well as:

• A thorough induction and extensive internal training helping you gain breadth as well as depth of knowledge and to help build a portfolio of valuable, transferable skills.
• Support to gain a professional qualification – you’ll take the core and electives modules of the Professional Skills Course (PSC) during your training contract.
• Continuous support – you’ll have your own mentor, participate in appraisals and get regular feedback from your supervisor.
• Grants - you can apply for a scholarship award to help with the costs of the Graduate Diploma in Law Course and the Legal Practice Course.

What you need to bring us:
We generally recruit two years in advance for trainee solicitors and therefore focus on penultimate year law students and final year non-law students. We can sometimes be flexible however and occasionally make offers commencing sooner than this.

Please note PwC Legal principally recruits Trainees through our Summer Vacation Schemes only. The next available scheme is the Summer Vacation 2014. All successful applicants from the 2014 scheme will be offered a Training Contract to join in 2014, 2015 or (more usually) 2016.
